PARIS CLIMATE AGREEMENT
They say the biggest risk prevailing in this world is the threat possessed by climate.
We have been seeing n number of things happening around us in the environment and the issue is clearly visible to us, be it an increase in the Average global temperature or rise in the sea level declining quality of air, all these things happening are the after-effects of declining climate conditions, and hence the world is suffering the hazards of their own work, if we see the evolution of human beings has impacted a lot to the climate so it is our responsibility to take necessary actions and minimize the collateral damage from happening so the step towards it taken by the world was Paris climate agreement or Accord de Paris in 2015.
It is an international treaty adopted by 196 member nations at the United Nations climate change conference Paris 2015.
So it was called Paris Climate Agreement and came to effect from November 2016, and covers broadly climate change, mitigation, and finance for tackling challenges related to it, regarding global temperature the goal is to keep the average rise in temperature below 2° C and some of its terms states about global emissions to reach net-zero by the middle of 21st century.
This idea was appreciated by world leaders for its intent as it is for a global good and noble cause but on the other hand, it was also criticized for its effectiveness as the current pledges are insufficient in reaching the set temperature goals, also it was condemned by many for the impacts in economy moreover on the developing countries as implementing the norms would thrash the economies of these countries as these countries basically run on the utilities of exhaustible resources and radically shifting to green economies would not be a great plan for them.
There have been pros and cons on every aspect of human existence but we also have to focus on existence itself along with human economical development. so we have to do whatever is best for humanity that is sustainable development itself , if we keep alinged in this path then definately the world would go in a good pace to a safer direction
