About this Assessment

Share with Your Friends too

Practice Test 3 covers key concepts from the respiratory and renal systems in Human Anatomy & Physiology. It is designed for learners preparing for pharmacist and paramedical recruitment examinations, as well as students revising foundational physiology.

The test reviews pulmonary ventilation and gas exchange, respiratory volumes, nephron structure, glomerular filtration, renal clearance, fluid and electrolyte regulation, and the renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system (RAAS). Use it to check your understanding, identify topics for revision, and practise answering MCQs in a timed online-test format.

Syllabus Covered

– Respiratory Tract Anatomy: Tracheal cartilage, laryngeal cartilages, respiratory epithelium and mucociliary clearance.
– Alveoli and Gas Exchange: Type I and Type II pneumocytes, pulmonary surfactant, Fick’s law of diffusion, and the Bohr and Haldane effects.
– Lung Volumes and Ventilation: Tidal volume, residual volume, vital capacity, minute ventilation and anatomical dead space.
– Nephron Structure: Glomerular filtration barrier, podocytes, renal corpuscle and tubular specializations.
– GFR and Renal Clearance: Glomerular filtration rate, Starling forces, inulin clearance, myogenic autoregulation and tubuloglomerular feedback.
– Fluid and Electrolyte Regulation: Macula densa signalling, renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system (RAAS), vasopressin (ADH), aquaporin-2 and the medullary countercurrent mechanism.
– Renal Acid–Base Balance and Micturition: Alpha-intercalated cells, hydrogen-ion secretion and voluntary control of urination.
