Educational Qualification
1. Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
Proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating RRB is required. Working knowledge of computers is desirable.
2. Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager)
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
Preference may be given to candidates having qualifications in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy.
Proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating RRB is required.
3. Officer Scale-II – General Banking Officer
A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks is required, along with the prescribed post-qualification experience as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
4. Officer Scale-II – Specialist Posts
Separate educational qualifications and experience are prescribed for Information Technology Officer, Chartered Accountant, Law Officer, Treasury Manager, Marketing Officer and Agriculture Officer posts.
- IT Officer: Relevant degree in Electronics, Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field with the prescribed marks and experience.
- Chartered Accountant: CA qualification with the prescribed experience.
- Law Officer: Degree in Law with the prescribed marks and relevant legal experience.
- Treasury Manager: CA or MBA in Finance with the prescribed experience.
- Marketing Officer: MBA in Marketing with the prescribed experience.
- Agriculture Officer: Relevant Agriculture/Agriculture-allied degree with the prescribed marks and experience.
5. Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager)
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks and the prescribed experience as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

Selection Process
Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
The selection process consists of an online Preliminary Examination followed by the Main Examination. There is no interview for the Office Assistant post.
Provisional allotment is made on the basis of the Main Examination marks and vacancies reported by the participating RRBs.
Officer Scale-I
Officer Scale-I selection consists of Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Common Interview.
Officer Scale-II and Scale-III
For Officer Scale-II and Scale-III, candidates appear for a Single Online Examination. Shortlisted candidates are subsequently called for the Common Interview.

The total duration of the Main Examination is 120 minutes.
Single Examination – Officer Scale-II & III
Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer and Officer Scale-III examinations consist of 200 questions carrying 200 marks with a duration of 120 minutes. The Specialist Officer Scale-II examination includes Professional Knowledge and has a duration of 150 minutes.
Negative marking: One-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer in objective tests. There is no penalty for an unanswered question.
Salary / Pay
The IBPS recruitment notification does not provide one fixed monthly salary figure applicable to every participating RRB. Pay, allowances and service conditions are governed by the applicable rules and settlements of the respective Regional Rural Bank.
Candidates should therefore check the service rules of the RRB to which they are allotted for the applicable salary and allowances.
